Leslie Cheung was born in Hong Kong and showed an interest in performing arts from a young age. He studied at Leeds University in the United Kingdom, where he developed his singing skills and learned about Western music. After returning to Hong Kong, he signed a record deal and released his debut album in 1977, marking the beginning of his successful music career.
